We’ve worked with mission-driven associations for years, but now HubSpot has officially validated that expertise: Orange Marketing has earned its Nonprofit Industry Specialist Badge.
This is our third HubSpot Industry Specialist designation, joining our Software Industry Specialist Badge and Manufacturing Industry Specialist Badge.
Industry Specialist Badges are earned at the organization level. HubSpot looks for demonstrated customer experience, dedicated case studies, industry-specific solutions, and a clear understanding of the language and challenges that shape a particular sector.
For Orange Marketing, the nonprofit badge reflects something we have seen repeatedly: mission-driven teams are doing important, complicated work, often with fewer resources than their operational needs demand. Their technology should make their work easier.
Nonprofit CRM Work Is Its Own Discipline

A nonprofit CRM cannot be built around a standard sales pipeline.
Nonprofits typically need to manage donors, members, volunteers, sponsors, grant partners, program participants, board members, and community stakeholders. A single contact may also have several relationships with the organization, each requiring different communications, follow-up, reporting, and privacy considerations.
A nonprofit's CRM also needs to serve the people using it. That could include a small staff, an all-volunteer board, a rotating group of program leaders, or a growing national organization with multiple chapters.
Effective nonprofit HubSpot work requires:
- Flexible relationship management: Contact records and properties that reflect the many roles people play within an organization.
- Thoughtful automation: Workflows that support donor outreach, member renewals, volunteer communication, event follow-up, and other recurring tasks.
- Mission-focused reporting: Dashboards that connect engagement and fundraising activity with programs, participation, and organizational impact.
- Long-term usability: Documentation and training that keep knowledge in the system instead of with one employee, volunteer, or board member.
Our goal is to build systems that fit a nonprofit's resources, capabilities, and mission.
Different Missions, Different HubSpot Solutions
Orange Marketing’s nonprofit work looks different for every organization because each has its own mission, audiences, resources, and operating model. The following examples show how those differences shape the systems we build:
➤ The Queens Women’s Chamber of Commerce all-volunteer board needed an organized member-management system that could work entirely within HubSpot Starter. Orange Marketing created bilingual membership forms, renewal tracking, Stripe payment connections, reusable event communications, and contact records capable of reflecting the multiple roles one person may play.
➤ For the North Dakota Safety Council, the work involved bringing together data from five disconnected systems. HubSpot was configured to connect training, membership, event, sponsorship, and communication activity, supported by a consolidated data lake and custom API. The result gave NDSC a clearer view of engagement and stronger reporting to guide targeted outreach for its life-saving programs.
➤ For a U.S. leadership nonprofit, contacts and engagement history were divided among Mailchimp, a separate inherited HubSpot account, and spreadsheets. Orange Marketing unified the network in one HubSpot portal, created a segmentation model reflecting the organization’s relationship-based communication strategy, connected event data to the appropriate records, and ensured new website forms captured clean data from launch.
Together, these projects show the range of nonprofit HubSpot work: making HubSpot Starter work harder for a small volunteer team, preserving precision through a complex CRM consolidation, and creating visibility across a sophisticated data ecosystem.
What the Badge Means for Nonprofits
The badge gives nonprofits an additional way to evaluate potential HubSpot partners before beginning an implementation, migration, or optimization project.
Working with an industry specialist means:
- Less time explaining common nonprofit structures and terminology.
- A CRM designed around the organization’s real relationships and workflows.
- Automation that reduces repetitive administrative work.
- Reporting that reflects fundraising, engagement, membership, and program goals.
- Training and documentation that support staff, volunteers, and future leaders.
Specificity Matters to People (and AI)
The Nonprofit Industry Specialist Badge makes Orange Marketing’s expertise easier for nonprofit leaders (and LLMs) to identify. It reflects more than a claim to serve nonprofits; it is backed by relevant experience, case studies, and third-party validation.
Orange Marketing builds HubSpot systems that reflect real nonprofit relationships, workflows, and resource constraints.
