Thanks for tuning in to our weekly HubSpot Updates recap! This week, there were some interesting updates that are worth checking out, so let's get right into it.
Here are the Top HubSpot Updates for the past week ending November 18, 2024:
- AI A/B Testing for Landing Pages,
- Customizable Quick Filters for Index Pages,
- Negative Score Rules (Lead Scoring).
AI A/B Testing for Landing Pages
You can now use AI to conduct A/B tests on alternative copy for your landing pages (excluding dynamic page content). Leveraging A/B tests to optimize your landing pages is crucial for successful lead generation but determining what elements to test can be challenging.
How does it work?
1. From the landing page editor, click 'Test' from the side navigation and then click 'A/B test with AI'.
2. Select the suggestion that you want to implement on the page.
3. HubSpot will apply the change to the page, name the test, and start it for you. The page can be edited and renamed as desired.
4. Continue to measure performance and select a winner, as you would with the manual A/B test process.
Customizable Quick Filters for Index Pages
With this update, customers can add and save custom quick filters to contact, company, deal, ticket, and custom object views. Users can save quick filters for later, which saves time and provides powerful data visibility and speedy insights.
How does it work?
To add a new quick filter, select 'more'. Then, select or search for the property you'd like to filter on.
As you add filter options, they will populate as shown below. If you would like to change the filter options available, select 'edit quick filters'.
The overflow space will store any quick filters that may not fit on your screen. To add more filters once using the overflow space, select '+Add'.
To change existing quick filters from your view, select 'edit', which will allow you to modify the order or remove filters you've added. To remove, select the trash icon.
To keep your quick filters, save changes as you go! This ensures your updates stay in place for future usage.
As you start to populate quick filters with data, you can quickly remove all quick filters by selecting 'clear all'. This will not impact 'advanced filters' that may have been saved to the view.
This update will show across all supported object views.
NOTE:
- You may add up to 5 custom filters to a view.
- The default filters are unchangeable at this time.
Negative Score Rules (Lead Scoring)
Negative score rules allow you to assign negative points to your lead scores.
Why does it Matter?
Since HubSpot introduced lead scoring, one of the most requested features has been the ability to assign negative point values to lower a contact's or company's score based on undesirable actions or attributes. This is crucial when looking to create more accurate, targeted scores that help you prioritize leads effectively.
For example, a contact may have a high engagement score due to frequent interaction with your marketing content, but if they recently unsubscribed from your newsletter, you’ll want that action reflected in their score. Similarly, a contact might have a strong fit score based on company size and role, but if they’re located in a region where your company doesn’t operate, that factor should be accounted for in their fit score.
How Does It Work?
- Navigate to Marketing > Lead Scoring and click Create Score.
- For the event or property group you want to score negatively, click the dropdown menu and select Subtract, then enter the points to be subtracted.
Group limits: You can set a limit for any group that includes both positive and negative rules. For example, if you apply a 20-point limit to a group, no more than 20 points will be added or subtracted, even if the rules within that group vary.
Minimum: The lowest possible score is zero, meaning the overall score cannot drop below zero (regardless of how many negative rules are applied).
