Top HubSpot Updates - Monday Recap - June 30, 2025
4:30

With the 4th of July holiday upon us, it’s a lighter release cycle again this week, but there are still two meaningful updates worth your attention. From more organized, insightful email reporting to a smarter way to capture in-person sales conversations, HubSpot continues to build tools that streamline processes and help you focus on what matters most.

Let’s take a closer look at this week’s two highlights:

  • Email Custom Properties: Enhanced Organization and Reporting, and
  • In-Person Meeting Notetaker [IOS Only].

Email Custom Properties: Enhanced Organization and Reporting

Your email marketing deserves better organization. Whether you're comparing newsletters against promotions or analyzing regional campaigns, you're currently stuck with inconsistent naming conventions. These workarounds limit your ability to gain clear, actionable insights and hinder data patterns, preventing you from understanding campaign effectiveness. Email Custom Properties provide a more thoughtful categorization method, saving you time and enhancing your reporting efforts.

How does it work?

When creating or editing an email, you'll find a new "Organize" tab. In the panel on the right-hand side, you can:

  • Create new custom properties tailored to your needs. You can choose between multi-select and single-select property types.
  • Select from a range of predefined properties provided by HubSpot to get you started quickly.

These properties will be available as columns on the listings page to make it easier for you to create views based on them.

In-Person Meeting Notetaker [iOS only]

The In-Person AI Meeting Notetaker brings the power of HubSpot AI to face-to-face sales conversations. Mobile reps can now capture real-time voice transcriptions through the HubSpot mobile app to automatically generate post-meeting summaries and email them to all participants. To alleviate privacy concerns, meeting captures are automatically deleted once summarization is complete. No more manual admin after an in-person meeting.

Why does it matter?

For field reps, in-person meetings are the norm and while these interactions are critical to building pipeline and closing deals, they often lack the digital paper trail that online meetings provide. Reps struggle with capturing notes and managing follow-up tasks, especially when meetings are informal or spontaneous. This feature bridges that gap, enabling reps to focus on the conversation while HubSpot AI handles the heavy admin lifting post-meeting.

How does it work?

To enable capturing in-person meeting audios, enable the following settings in the HubSpot desktop portal:

  • Settings > Calling > Call Setup > Call Configurations
    • ‘Call recording’
    • ‘Transcription and analysis’
  • Settings > AI
    • ‘Give users access to generative AI tools and features’
    • ‘CRM Data’
    • ‘Customer conversation dat

Once enabled, from the mobile app, reps can initiate voice capturing (with consent). AI processes the content to create summaries. Once the summary is created, users can either email it to all participants or copy it. No recordings are stored, only the transcription summary remains, which helps reduce privacy concerns. Entry points include scheduled meeting pages and calendar items flagged as in-person meetings without online links, as well as created Log Activity Meetings. Users will also be able to see these in-person AI summaries from HubSpot’s desktop version. Upon completion, an AI meeting summary notification will be pushed to reps, enabling them to deeplink directly to the summary.

The In-Person AI Meeting Notetaker leverages Google Speech-to-Text functionality for the transcription. By participating in this Beta, you acknowledge and agree that Google LLC will process recording data.

NOTE: This feature is in private beta for Sales Hub Professional and Enterprise seated users on iOS only. Make sure your mobile app is updated to the latest version to access this new feature.
