Written by Orange Marketing | November 25, 2024

Welcome to this week’s roundup of the top HubSpot updates! We've handpicked our favorite new features to keep you ahead of the game. Whether you're streamlining your sales processes or enhancing your marketing strategies, these updates are here to help you make the most of HubSpot.

Here are the Top HubSpot Updates for the past week ending November 25, 2024:

  • Countdown Timer in CTAs,
  • Convert Active to Static Lists on Schedule,
  • Configurable Send Throttling.

Countdown Timer in CTAs

HubSpot added a new "Countdown Timer" module to HubSpot CTAs! You can add this module directly to your pop-up and embedded CTAs, and then surface them on your website to drive conversions.

Why does it Matter?

Adding a countdown to your CTAs is a powerful way to highlight limited time offers or upcoming events. Countdown timers in pop-ups and embedded CTAs encourage user engagement and are shown to increase conversion rates for time-sensitive campaigns. Using a countdown can be particularly valuable if your company has any limited-time promotional events, sales, or offers.

How Does It Work?

To add a countdown to your CTA, simply select the countdown module from the editor and drag it into your asset. We've also introduced five new CTA templates tailored for creating pop-ups with countdowns.

Set your desired end date, and the countdown will automatically conclude at midnight in your account’s time zone (note: specific end hours aren’t available yet).

If the countdown is in a pop-up, the pop-up will automatically unpublish when the countdown ends. Customize the look of your countdown in the "Style" tab, where you can adjust padding, colors, borders, and more to match your brand.

Please note that CTAs with countdowns aren’t supported in marketing emails.

Convert Active to Static Lists on Schedule

HubSpot added the ability to select when any active list will automatically be converted to a static list.

Why does it matter?

Managing a growing number of lists can be difficult. Once an active list meets your campaign needs, you may no longer need that list to continually evaluate new records that meet its criteria.

How does it work?

In the “Settings” tab, for any active list, you now can:

1. Select a specific day when you wish that list to be converted from an active to a static list:

2. Select 'after inactivity' if you wish for that list to be converted from an active list to a static list after a selected period where no records have joined nor left the list:

Configurable Send Throttling

Admins can now control the amount of emails users can send through a HubSpot connected account per minute.

Why does it Matter?

As an administrator, you want to improve the deliverability of your sales team's emails and ensure your company has a strong sending reputation. One way to do this is to set guardrails in HubSpot that enforce best practices, such as the rate at which emails send. Default HubSpot throttling limits are based on email provider limits to protect your integration. However, the volume able to be sent can make it difficult to ensure high-quality content and avoid looking spammy if you are using automation tools such as templates and sequences.

How does it work?

A user must have Account Access to modify this setting. In Settings > Objects > Activities, select the Email Frequency Controls tab. Under Maximum sends per minute, enter the new limit you wish to enforce for your HubSpot account and click Save.

The value entered must be equal to or less than the default limit of 10. The limit operates by referring to clock minutes. For example: If you set the limit to 1, one email will be able to be sent between 9:00:00 and 9:00:59. Then another one email will be able to be sent between 9:01:00 and 9:01:59. It would not enforce a strict 60 second spacing between those emails.

The limit applies per connected email account. If a user has multiple personal emails integrated, they will be able to send up to the limit from every account. This setting only applies to connected personal emails and doesn't impact team emails connected to Conversations.

Once a user has sent the maximum number of emails, further emails will fail to send.

Note: Sequences has additional limits that prevent more than 3 emails from sending per minute. If you set this limit to less than 3, Sequences will respect the lower number. If you leave it at the default or change it to anything higher than 3, Sequences will still limit your sequence sends to no more than 3 per minute.
