HubSpot Updates - Monday Recap - November 17, 2025

Written by Orange Marketing | November 17, 2025

This week, HubSpot is focused on helping you take faster action with cleaner, smarter data. Whether you’re scanning your CRM for sensitive information, turning saved views into reusable segments, or creating targeted lists of leads, these updates are all about empowering your team to work more securely, efficiently, and strategically.

Here are our top picks for the week of November 17, 2025:

  • Scan and Redact Sensitive Data in CRM Activities,
  • Convert Views to Segments, and
  • Create Segments of your Leads.

Scan and Redact Sensitive Data in CRM Activities

The information present across your CRM Activities (notes, calls, tasks, emails, meetings) can contain a wide range of data, from notes logged by your team members to emails received from customers. For those who may be handling sensitive data (financial data, health information, etc), you can now scan your account for the identification of Sensitive Data.

If you have activated Sensitive Data already, you can additionally choose to redact that information to permanently remove that data from your environment.

If you have not activated Sensitive Data and your scan yields results indicating you are storing sensitive data, it may be beneficial to activate Sensitive Data for additional layers of protection.

Why does it matter?

This feature helps organizations maintain data hygiene and reduce compliance risk by providing clarity around the data being stored across unstructured CRM Activities

How does it work?

Admins can initiate a scan of the last 60 days of their account by navigating to Settings -> Security -> Sensitive Data

Convert Views to Segments

You can now turn any saved view into a segment directly from the table view, no rebuilding required.

The new “Save as segment” action in the Filters menu lets you instantly apply the filters from any view to create a segment. It’s a faster, more seamless way to go from viewing data to taking action — without losing the filter logic you’ve already built.

Until now, building segments often meant re-creating the same filters you’d already perfected in a view. That extra step was time-consuming and broke the flow between exploration and action.

With this update, you can move directly from identifying an audience to engaging it, whether that means sending a campaign, enrolling contacts in a workflow, or analyzing a defined segment.

By adding contextual error handling, you’ll also see clear messages when any filter can’t be converted, while all other supported filters carry over automatically. The result is a faster, smoother path from insight to impact.

How does it work?

To create a list from a view:

  1. Open or create a view. Apply filters using Advanced or Quick Filters.
  2. Click the Filters menu at the top of the table.
  3. Select “Save as segment.”
    • HubSpot automatically carries over all supported filters into a new segment.

  1. Review and edit filters in the Segment editor as needed.
  2. Save and use your segment across campaigns, workflows, and reports.

Note: If a filter isn’t supported, you’ll see a contextual error message, unsupported filters will be flagged, and all others will still be added to your segment.

Create Segments of your Leads

You can now create segments (formerly lists) of your leads based on their properties and associated data.

Why does it matter?

You can now segment and target your leads, improving your sales and marketing efforts:

  • Segment leads with similar characteristics for targeted campaigns
  • Easily track and manage specific segments of leads
  • Create more personalized and effective outreach strategies

How does it work?

First, ensure the lead object is activated. Then go to CRM --> Segments (Lists) --> Create segment.

Select Leads as your object type and add filters, including: Associated objects and their properties, associated objects and their interactions, and associated segment membership

After you save your segment of leads, you can:

  • Measure how your segment size changes over time in Performance --> Segment breakdown
  • Use the segments in workflows as enrollment triggers or actions
  • Assess how your segment compares to other segments in Performance  --> Segment breakdown and how it's performed in Performance tab --> Active  channels
